American Art Pictures

I’m proud to announce a new venture I’m very excited to be a part of: American Art Pictures, an online showcase and retail representation entity for a trio of filmmakers, Rodney Ascher, Z. Zed Algernon, and myself, with a specialty in work designed for the internet. We’re focused on bringing new ideas to the changing landscape of advertising, from more traditional commercials to online viral campaigns and branded entertainment. Tired of confusing, flash-heavy production company and director’s rep websites, Rodney suggested we take the opposite approach, and make the website as simple and easy to navigate as possible, resulting in a Craigslist-inspired design. My favorite feature of the site is the automated bid calculator, which allows you to choose the level of humor, special effects quality, type of concept, and timeline for delivery, then uses that information to set a budget, and even allows you to connect to paypal if you’d like to pay for your bid immediately.

We’re partnered with Iron Claw, a first-rate production company and visual effects firm here in Los Angeles, and we’re committed to producing high-quality, original work for clients looking to leave the traditional expensive ad agency-centric model behind.
