The Last Man On Earth

Wandering the wasteland of an abandoned city in the wake of a civilization-ending event,  the survivor of humanity’s “undoing” searches for someone…anyone. From tonight’s season 2 finale of Key & Peele, 10:30pm / 9:30pm on Comedy Central.

Our art department, led by Gary Kordan, really knocked it out of the park on this one. We had access to the Universal Studios backlot for our first two weeks of shooting, so I insisted we try and go for as big a scale as possible on the downtown city set. They delivered above and beyond my expectations. It’s fun to watch this one multiple times to see all the little details they crammed into both of the main sets (the abandoned street in the opening and Keegan’s “pleasure depot”). I’d also like to take this time to formally apologize to the extras who didn’t know we were going to blow picture dust all over their vehicle. Hope you guys enjoyed the free auto detailing coupons.
